Kutler, a longtime cable news executive, has wasted no time implementing her vision for the left-leaning network. Among the most notable changes is the reassignment of Jen Psaki, former Biden press secretary, to the highly coveted 9 p.m. time slot Tuesday through Friday, replacing Rachel Maddow for the majority of the week. Maddow, who returned to nightly hosting during the early days of President Donald Trump’s administration, will now restrict her appearances to Monday nights.

Jen Psaki Steps Into the Spotlight

MSNBC’s decision to give Psaki a prominent role is no surprise, given the success of her show, Inside with Jen Psaki. Launched in 2023, the program has garnered strong ratings and critical acclaim. Kutler reportedly spearheaded the project, which has proven to be a ratings win for the network.
