A nursing student in Texas was tragically stabbed to death by her roommate, just days before her graduation. Authorities say the altercation stemmed from an argument about their cats.

On April 26, Houston police responded to a welfare check at an apartment on the city’s southside. Officers discovered blood on the patio and entered the premises, where they found 23-year-old U.K. native Tamilore Odunsi in the kitchen suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect, Chester Lamar Grant, 40, was located in the bedroom with a stab wound, which police believe was self-inflicted. Grant was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

A Dispute That Turned Deadly

Investigators revealed that Odunsi and Grant had been roommates for only a few months. According to Houston police, their argument over their cats escalated, leading to the fatal attack. Grant is now facing a murder charge and is being held at Harris County Jail on a $500,000 bond.

A Life Full of Promise Cut Short

Odunsi, a devoted Christian and active member of her church, was remembered for her kindness and ambition. Known as “Tami Dollars” on TikTok, she aspired to become a pediatric nurse to help children. Her family expressed their heartbreak, stating her death came at a moment that should have celebrated a bright future.
