The Justice Department on Friday revealed charges against three Iranian individuals for their involvement in cyber-attacks targeting the campaign of former President Donald Trump.
Identified as members of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Masoud Jalili, Yaser Balaghi, and Seyyed Ali Aghamiri face accusations including conspiracy to access protected computers unlawfully and committing fraud. According to the indictment, these individuals allegedly penetrated Trump’s campaign systems and attempted to distribute stolen information to media organizations, which ultimately declined to publish it.
