  • While optimistic, Vance acknowledged that immediate results are unlikely and urged Americans to remain patient as changes take effect.

Vice President J.D. Vance assured Americans that grocery prices will decrease, but emphasized that it will take some time to see results. Speaking on CBS News’ Face the Nation on Sunday, he defended the administration’s early efforts, highlighting the accomplishments made in just five days of President Trump’s tenure.

Executive Orders Aim to Address Rising Costs

When host Margaret Brennan asked which of the executive orders signed by President Trump would lower prices, Vance responded, “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” He emphasized that while meaningful economic changes take time, the administration has already taken significant steps.

Vance pointed to energy-related executive orders as a key driver of price reductions. “One of the main reasons for higher prices under the Biden administration was skyrocketing energy costs,” he said. According to Vance, reversing those policies will help lower prices at the pump and in grocery stores.

The Vice President also highlighted the link between job creation and price stabilization. “A number of these executive actions have already started bringing jobs back to the U.S.,” he explained. Vance argued that more capital investment and job opportunities will lead to higher wages, making essential goods more affordable for consumers.

He added that these efforts will not only lower costs but also create a stronger economic foundation. “When we create jobs and invest in energy production, we’re addressing the root causes of inflation,” Vance stated.

Transition Period and Consumer Expectations

While optimistic about the administration’s actions, Vance acknowledged that immediate results are unlikely. “Prices are going to come down, but it’s going to take a little bit of time,” he noted. He urged Americans to remain patient as the changes take effect.
