Country music star Jason Aldean, a long-time supporter of President Donald Trump, shared his thoughts on the president’s first month back in office. In a recent Instagram Q&A, Aldean expressed his excitement over the direction President Trump is taking, emphasizing that he’s delivering on his promises.

“Doing What We Hoped He Would”

The Grammy-nominated artist, known for hits like the controversial “Try That in a Small Town,” didn’t hold back in his praise. “I’m actually excited, honestly,” Aldean said during the Q&A, quoted by country news site Whiskey Riff. He noted that President Trump is “saving taxpayers a lot of money” by reducing wasteful spending and is staying true to his word.

Aldean’s wife, Brittany, also chimed in, highlighting the administration’s focus on border security. “This is what I voted for,” she said, referring to new measures implemented by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). She added, “I sleep way better at night knowing our borders are more secure.”

Aldean also praised President Trump’s close advisor, Elon Musk, for his efforts to cut government spending. “I watched his whole speech… I thought it was amazing,” Aldean commented. He believes Musk is “getting us back on the right track” by implementing smart, business-like policies. This sentiment echoes the broader support Musk has gained among conservatives for his emphasis on efficiency and accountability.

Controversy and Strength in the Spotlight

Despite his support for the president, Aldean has faced backlash for his own work. His song “Try That in a Small Town” received criticism for its controversial themes. The accompanying music video, featuring images of protests and filmed outside a site tied to historical racial violence, sparked outrage. Critics called it a “racist” and “lynching anthem,” leading Country Music Television to pull the video from its rotation.

In response, Aldean defended the song during an appearance on the Coop’s Rockin’ Country Saturday Night podcast, saying, “Country music is for the everyman. I’ve got eyes, I can see what’s going on.” He dismissed accusations of promoting violence and stood by his message, claiming it reflects the struggles of everyday Americans.
