• Meghan Markle’s Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan,” faces criticism from her half-brother Thomas Markle Jr., who disputes her portrayal of childhood struggles.
  • Meghan reflects on her new identity as “Meghan Sussex,” emphasizing the importance of her family name while sharing personal stories.
  • Critics call the show “inauthentic,” questioning its polished portrayal and claiming it doesn’t align with reality.

Meghan Markle’s Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan,” has drawn attention for its personal anecdotes, but not everyone is convinced. Thomas Markle Jr., Meghan’s estranged half-brother, criticized her depiction of growing up as a “latchkey kid” who relied on “fast food and TV tray dinners.” Speaking on TalkTV, he dismissed her portrayal as “another one of the malarkey stories” she allegedly used to gain sympathy.

Markle Jr., who hasn’t had contact with Meghan in over ten years, claimed, “We weren’t poor. She didn’t have to rub two nickels together at Sizzler’s salad bar.” He continued criticizing, saying, “The world knows how she treated her family, especially her father, who gave her everything. That’s why no one’s buying it.”

In the series, Meghan shared moments from her current life, including how she now identifies as “Meghan Sussex.” During a lighthearted kitchen scene with Mindy Kaling, the duo bonded while preparing for a kids’ garden tea party. When Kaling mentioned Meghan’s past fast-food habits at “Taco Bell” and “Jack in the Box,” the Duchess smiled and corrected, “It’s so funny you keep saying Meghan Markle. You know I’m Sussex now.”

Meghan explained how meaningful her name has become since sharing it with her children. She noted, “It means so much to say, ‘This is our family name.’” She and Prince Harry live in Montecito, California, with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, while still holding their royal titles.

Critics Call the Show “Inauthentic”

While “With Love, Meghan” features celebrity appearances and practical tips on gardening, cooking, and hosting, skeptics have called the series “fake” and questioned its authenticity. Thomas Jr. insisted Meghan “didn’t cook for anyone while growing up.” He added that the show’s polished portrayal doesn’t reflect reality, calling it “cringy, Stepford-wife behavior.”
