- Jean-Claude Van Damme accused of engaging with human trafficking victims at a Cannes event, per a Romania DIICOT complaint.
- Linked to a human trafficking investigation involving businessman Morel Bolea.
- Romanian and French authorities are collecting evidence; Van Damme may face questioning.
Martial artist and actor Jean-Claude Van Damme, 64, has been accused of engaging in sexual relations with several Romanian women who were reportedly victims of human trafficking. According to Antena 3 CNN, a criminal complaint filed with Romania’s Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) alleges that Van Damme knowingly participated in these acts at an event he hosted in Cannes.
The criminal complaint also implicates Romanian businessman and modeling agency owner Morel Bolea, who is suspected of leading the trafficking operation. The women were allegedly presented to Van Damme as a “gift” by the criminal group. One witness claimed, “From the witness statements, it is very clear that Jean-Claude Van Damme knew these women were being exploited.”
What We Know So Far
The timeframe for the alleged incidents remains unclear. However, attorney Adrian Cuculis, representing one of the alleged victims, stated that the women were exploited and in a “state of vulnerability.” The allegations revolve around five women, described as Romanian photo models, who were reportedly offered to Van Damme during the Cannes event.

Cuculis further commented, “At one point in Cannes, at an event organized by Jean-Claude Van Damme, several Romanians who are currently being investigated for the establishment of a criminal group and pimping allegedly offered Jean-Claude Van Damme five Romanian women.”
The Romanian authorities are working closely with the French High Court of Cassation to authorize criminal proceedings, as the alleged acts occurred in Cannes. Once legal approval is secured, the individuals involved will be summoned to Romania for questioning.
A Wider Investigation Unfolds
This case isn’t isolated. It’s reportedly part of a larger, ongoing investigation into human trafficking and the exploitation of minors, initiated by Romania’s prosecutor’s office in 2020. The allegations against Van Damme have drawn significant attention, especially due to his popularity stemming from films like Kickboxer, Double Impact, and Street Fighter.
While the accusations are serious, it’s essential to note that representatives for Van Damme have not yet provided a comment or response to the allegations. Page Six has reached out for a statement but has not received a reply at the time of publication.
