The assaults on the two women occurred in May 2024 in the remote canyon hills above Azusa. Investigators say Sarabia attacked the first victim on May 12 after meeting her near the El Monte Metrolink Station. He offered her a ride, drove her to Highway 39, and carried out the assault.
The following night, deputies patrolling the same area discovered Sarabia in his van with a second victim, who was reportedly screaming for help. Law enforcement intervened immediately, arresting Sarabia at the scene.
Decade-Long Abuse of Children
Court filings revealed that Sarabia’s crimes extended to two young children. The first victim was assaulted between 2010 and 2012, while the second was victimized between 2021 and 2022.
A Long-Awaited Sentence
Sarabia’s arrest on May 13 led to his immediate incarceration. On sentencing, the DA’s office emphasized justice for the victims. “These heinous acts have no place in our community,” a spokesperson stated.
