CHELAN, WA — Authorities are intensifying the manhunt for Travis Decker, the Washington man accused of murdering his three young daughters, with new details suggesting he may have altered his appearance and is attempting to reach the Canadian border.
A Family Tragedy Unfolds
Decker, 32, was last seen on May 30 when he picked up his daughters—Paityn, 9, Evelyn, 8, and Olivia, 5—for a scheduled visitation. He never returned them to their mother. Just days later, on June 2, the girls were found dead near a remote campground not far from Decker’s abandoned vehicle. According to the Chelan County Medical Examiner, the cause of death for all three children was suffocation, and the manner of death was ruled as homicide.
The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office shared a digital rendering of what Decker might look like now, warning that he may have changed his appearance while evading capture. Police describe him as a survivalist with military experience, skilled at navigating rugged terrain and living off the grid.

The Search Intensifies
Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Washington Army National Guard, U.S. Marshals Service, and U.S. Border Patrol, have joined the search. Authorities say Decker is armed, dangerous, and possibly heading for the Canadian border. Investigators uncovered evidence from his browsing history that points to his intentions of crossing into Canada. It’s believed he may be on a hiking trail leading directly to the border.
Chelan County Sheriff’s Office has advised the public to remain vigilant. “If you see Mr. Decker, do not approach him. Call 911 immediately,” they emphasized in a statement.
Social Media Misinformation
Despite the urgency of the case, misinformation has spread online. A TikTok video falsely claimed Decker was taken into custody after a standoff with police. The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office debunked the video, stating, “To be clear, Mr. Decker is not in custody, and CCSO had no part in making that video.”
