• A House Oversight Subcommittee advanced a vote to subpoena Bill and Hillary Clinton, alongside other top Obama-era officials, as part of a widening congressional investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s network. The committee also approved a subpoena for Ghislaine Maxwell, setting up an August deposition inside federal prison.

WASHINGTON, DC (TDR) — The House Oversight Select Subcommittee voted Wednesday to advance subpoenas for former President Bill Clinton, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and a slate of former attorneys general and FBI directors, expanding a congressional investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and his convicted accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell.

The motion was introduced by Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pa.), who requested that Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) subpoena a list of officials alleged to have had ties to Epstein or Maxwell.

“I have a motion to subpoena the following individuals to expand the full committee’s investigation into Miss Maxwell,” Perry said during the hearing, according to Fox News.

The names included Bill and Hillary Clinton, James Comey, Loretta Lynch, Eric Holder, Merrick Garland, Robert Mueller, William Barr, Jeff Sessions, and Alberto Gonzales. The motion passed 8–2 by voice vote.

Subpoenas Incoming

In a post on X, Comer thanked Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) for supporting the motion in a bipartisan fashion and confirmed the committee is preparing subpoenas for each of the individuals named.

“The Oversight Committee is preparing subpoenas for these individuals and the Epstein files and will issue them in the near future,” Comer wrote.

The committee also passed a separate motion to subpoena Ghislaine Maxwell herself, seeking her testimony from federal custody.

In another X post, Comer confirmed that the Department of Justice is cooperating and has arranged a deposition at FCI Tallahassee on August 11, 2025.

“I have issued a subpoena to Ghislaine Maxwell for a deposition… The Department of Justice is cooperating,” Comer stated.

Immunity for Testimony?

Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.), who pushed for Maxwell’s testimony, suggested her sentence could be reduced if she provides critical information to federal investigators.

Will this bipartisan move finally pull back the curtain on Epstein’s enablers—or stall like past investigations?
