• Stephen Colbert fired back at President Trump after The Late Show’s cancellation, delivering a searing monologue that lit up social media. With Colbert’s signature wit and sharp timing, he took the moment to defend his legacy, rally support from fans, and call out the president’s celebratory remarks in bold, unapologetic fashion.

NEW YORK, N.Y. (TDR) — Stephen Colbert isn’t going quietly. After President Trump took to Truth Social to cheer the cancellation of The Late Show, Colbert offered a pointed — and unmistakably personal — response during Monday night’s episode.

“How dare you, sir,” Colbert said. “Would an untalented man be able to compose the following satirical witticism? Go f*** yourself!”

The cancellation, which CBS announced last week, stunned many in the entertainment world. But Trump celebrated the news, writing,

“I absolutely love that Colbert got fired. His talent was even less than his ratings… Greg Gutfeld is better than all of them combined.”

A Cross to Bear?

Colbert, never shy about addressing politics with humor, wasn’t finished. He referenced Trump’s swipe at Jimmy Kimmel — predicting the ABC host might be “next” — with a theatrical rebuttal.

“Nope! No, no. Absolutely not, Kimmel. I am the martyr, okay? There’s only room for one on this cross — and I gotta tell you, the view is fantastic from up here!”
