- Charlie Kirk, a prominent MAGA youth organizer, abruptly distanced himself from the Epstein controversy after a weekend of heated criticism at a Turning Point USA event and a personal phone call from President Trump. As Attorney General Pam Bondi faces internal MAGA backlash, tensions inside the movement are boiling over.
TAMPA, FL (TDR) — A fiery weekend summit of conservative youth activists has reignited political controversy around the Jeffrey Epstein investigation, revealing a widening rift inside the pro-Trump movement. Now, Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk is signaling a retreat from the issue—just 24 hours after receiving a call from President Trump.
Kirk, a vocal Trump ally and influential campus organizer, told his podcast listeners on Monday that he was “done talking about Epstein for the time being,” despite his summit becoming a flashpoint for MAGA infighting. The decision follows pointed on-stage critiques of the administration’s handling of the Epstein files and growing pressure on Attorney General Pam Bondi to release more records.
Trump Reaches Out as MAGA Pressure Mounts
According to CNN’s Kristen Holmes, President Trump personally phoned Kirk on Saturday after seeing footage of him appearing to side with Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino over Bondi during the Student Action Summit in Florida.
“Plenty was said this last weekend at our event about Epstein. Honestly, I’m done talking about Epstein for the time being,” Kirk told his audience Monday. “I’m gonna trust my friends in the administration… the ball’s in their hands.”

The timing is notable. Late last week, multiple reports emerged that Bongino has threatened to resign unless Bondi is removed—reflecting deeper fractures in the Trump-era Department of Justice, where the long-suppressed Epstein case continues to cause internal turbulence.
Bondi Faces Growing Conservative Blowback
Attorney General Pam Bondi has been the target of increasing grassroots backlash for her handling of the Epstein case. Though Bondi initially called for transparency, her more recent statements have echoed the Department of Justice’s official line—that there was no foul play in Epstein’s 2019 jailhouse death and no verified “client list” to release.
“You can’t tell me that a thousand people were hurt and that there are no people out there we can arrest,”

One of the most viral moments from the Turning Point summit came when comedian Dave Smith accused President Trump of:
“Actively covering up a giant child rapist ring,”
— Dave Smith, comedian and summit speaker
His remarks were met with loud applause from an audience of young conservatives.
A Strategic Retreat or Coordinated Messaging?
Kirk’s comments suggest a tactical recalibration more than a change of heart. While distancing himself from further Epstein discourse, he still called for the Department of Justice to:
“Move to unseal the grand jury testimony… I would love to see that.”
— Charlie Kirk, Turning Point USA founder
He emphasized that he trusted administration figures like Kash Patel, Dan Bongino, Todd Blanche, and Pam Bondi to “solve it.”
In June, Kirk admitted to frequently texting with White House staff to get “marching orders.” His latest messaging may reflect a coordinated attempt to contain an issue now threatening to fracture the MAGA coalition heading into election season.
When a movement built on exposing elites struggles to answer its own base’s questions about accountability, the political cost could be lasting. Should MAGA leaders speak more clearly—or continue to close ranks?

TDR’s love of truth= I love no comment, but my own.
Anyone notice how all of a sudden Trump is winning all his SCOTUS cases and everything seems to be going his way? Miraculously his entire agenda seems to be clear for take off. My guess is they got their hands on the Epstein info and are now leveraging it to make things right.
MAGA leadership didnt suddenly turn evil.
I am willing to assume there are good reasons and let them get on with the 100 other good things they are doing.
