• Conservative commentator Tucker Carlson warned that President Trump’s Department of Justice risks triggering public unrest by dismissing further investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking network. Citing a DOJ memo concluding Epstein’s death was a suicide and denying a “client list,” Carlson accused the administration of betraying its promise of accountability.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (TDR) — Tucker Carlson issued a sharp warning this week that President Trump’s Justice Department is “playing with fire” by dismissing renewed demands for transparency in the Jeffrey Epstein investigation, arguing that the administration’s inaction could lead to widespread public backlash—or worse.

During a podcast conversation with Breaking Points host Saagar Enjeti, Carlson reacted to a Department of Justice memo asserting there is “no incriminating client list” tied to Epstein’s sex trafficking operation and “no credible evidence” that the disgraced financier blackmailed prominent figures. The report also reaffirmed the official cause of Epstein’s death as suicide.

A Dangerous Political Gamble

Carlson, known for his harsh critiques of the federal government, said the Trump administration’s refusal to fully disclose information tied to Epstein is not just a political misstep—it’s a moral failure.

“Thousands of children got raped—who raped them?” Carlson asked. “Why aren’t they in jail? This is the Department of Justice. That is so crazy.”

He added that denying Americans accountability while dismissing questions as “conspiracy theories” is a recipe for civil unrest. “You’re really playing with fire when you insult the population,” Carlson said.

Betraying the Populist Mandate

Enjeti argued that the Trump movement, built on promises to confront corruption and elite protection rackets, bears unique responsibility to address Epstein’s network. “If you’re elected on that message, and you betray that message, in my opinion, you’re more culpable,” he said.

Carlson agreed, stating that the perceived cover-up is “one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen.” He warned that if the goal is to provoke radical action, “this is how you would act.”

While President Trump has previously distanced himself from Epstein, critics on the right say his DOJ’s recent statements fall short of the accountability voters were promised.
