- President Trump ignites firestorm by calling the Jeffrey Epstein scandal a “Democrat hoax,” accusing his political rivals of staging a massive deception. Trump’s shocking claim comes amid mounting MAGA backlash over a DOJ memo downplaying Epstein’s infamous client list and causes new rifts within his own administration.
WASHINGTON, D.C. (TDR) — President Trump has thrown gasoline on the Epstein firestorm — accusing Democrats of masterminding what he dubbed the “Jeffrey Epstein hoax,” and hinting that naive Republicans are falling for it.
In a fiery phone interview Wednesday with Real America’s Voice, Trump claimed the entire Epstein saga was just another smear campaign “put out by Democrats” — and dismissed calls for a deeper FBI investigation into the late convicted sex trafficker’s alleged client list.
“They oughta look into the Jeffrey Epstein hoax, too, because that’s another hoax… put out by the Democrats,” Trump said, railing against what he sees as a coordinated disinformation blitz.

MAGA Meltdown Over DOJ Memo
Trump’s dramatic pivot comes after a Department of Justice memo last week declared there was no credible client list, reigniting long-simmering outrage in MAGA circles. Many Trump allies had been expecting explosive revelations — especially after Attorney General Pam Bondi claimed back in February that Epstein’s list was “sitting on my desk.”

Now, frustration is boiling over.
Even Trump loyalists FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino, both of whom once made Epstein a top talking point on right-wing media, are reportedly fuming behind the scenes. Sources say both men have considered resigning in protest over Bondi’s “paper-thin findings.”
Trump Points Fingers — And Shrugs
But Trump isn’t appeasing his base. Instead, he’s laughing off their disappointment and blaming the left.
“Some of the naive Republicans fall right into line like they always do,” he said. “They don’t have that sticktuitive like glue.”

Asked whether he would appoint a special counsel to probe Epstein, Trump dodged:
“I have nothing to do with it,” he told reporters bluntly before walking away — a moment that left jaws on the floor and video clips circling social media.
Bondi on Blast — And Losing Allies?
The backlash is now extending to Bondi, who has refused to release further Epstein documents despite public pressure. Critics say the memo’s timing — and its thin conclusions — appear more like political cleanup than closure.
And if Trump thought his comments would calm the storm, he may have miscalculated.
Online, the hashtags #EpsteinFiles, #TrumpKnew, and #WhereIsTheList surged on X, with thousands of users accusing the administration of hiding the truth — or worse, gaslighting their own supporters.
“This isn’t the leadership we voted for,” one top MAGA influencer posted. “Trump’s losing the plot on Epstein.”
What’s really behind the Epstein memo — a deep-state cover-up, or just political misdirection? Let us know in the comments.
