- Mark Epstein, brother of the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, publicly speculated that President Donald Trump may have been involved in his brother’s death, reigniting scrutiny over the federal government’s handling of the case and the credibility of official findings released by the Trump administration.
NEW YORK, NY (TDR) — In a recent interview on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Mark Epstein, the brother of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, suggested that President Donald Trump and members of his administration may have played a role in covering up or contributing to Epstein’s death.
The explosive comments were made during a live segment Wednesday evening, where Epstein claimed that senior Trump administration officials—Attorney General Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel, and OMB Director Russell Vought—were allegedly involved in suppressing critical information related to Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal enterprise.
“If they’re covering up for somebody, who do you think they might be covering up for?” Epstein asked rhetorically, before naming Trump. When pressed by host Piers Morgan on whether he believed the president had a hand in his brother’s death, Epstein responded, “I wouldn’t write that off.”
Federal conclusion disputed

Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in his jail cell at Manhattan’s Metropolitan Correctional Center in August 2019, while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. The death was ruled a suicide by the Trump administration’s Department of Justice, following investigations that concluded there was no credible evidence of foul play or blackmail involving high-profile individuals.
The official report also determined there was no “incriminating ‘client list’” connected to Epstein’s criminal activities. That conclusion has been repeatedly challenged by victims, activists, and now Mark Epstein.
“People who take the time and really investigate this thoroughly all come to the pretty much conclusion that maybe Trump was behind this,” he added during the segment.
Lack of evidence and rising speculation
Piers Morgan, pushing back on Epstein’s claims, noted that “there is zero evidence Donald Trump had anything to do with your brother’s death.” Epstein replied, “Well, somebody did.” He also cited a growing frustration over what he sees as a deliberate federal cover-up.

The Trump administration’s DOJ maintained that there were procedural failures at the correctional facility but found no indication of homicide. Critics argue that the lack of transparency and the sudden closure of related investigations have only fueled suspicion.
Public reaction and accountability
Epstein’s remarks have reignited public interest in the case, especially as high-profile names—such as Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew, and others—were linked to Epstein in media reports. None of these associations have resulted in criminal charges, and much of the information remains sealed or redacted.
Meanwhile, calls for a full, independent investigation persist, though no additional probes are currently underway.
“It’s not unreasonable for families to want answers,” said a former DOJ official familiar with the case, “but speculation without evidence doesn’t substitute due process or factual review.”
Transparency, accountability, or political theater?
As the 2024 election cycle continues, figures from both sides of the aisle have cited Epstein’s case to argue over federal integrity and institutional transparency. Whether Epstein’s family’s claims lead to renewed investigations remains to be seen.
