• Corey Dellinger, 36, faces felony charges of stalking and terroristic threats after police say he unleashed violent outbursts across Lubbock, Texas, including a chilling park incident where he allegedly threatened to stab a father in front of his family. Court records reveal a pattern of disturbing behavior online and in public.

LUBBOCK, TX (TDR) — A Texas man with a history of alarming social media posts and erratic public behavior has been arrested after allegedly threatening to stab a man in front of his wife and children during a picnic in a Lubbock park.

Corey Dellinger, 36, was taken into custody and charged with stalking and making terroristic threats following multiple alleged confrontations, including threats made against strangers, family members, and individuals he accused of personal betrayals. According to KLBK, Dellinger’s conduct escalated over several months before culminating in a July 9 incident that prompted an urgent law enforcement response.

Park Confrontation Sparks Arrest

According to court records obtained by KLBK, the terrifying incident at the park unfolded when a local father and his family were approached at a picnic table by Dellinger, who began asking unsettling questions about the children.

The father told investigators he offered a handshake to deescalate the situation. Instead, Dellinger allegedly interpreted the gesture as a threat, declaring his intent to retrieve a gun and kill the man.

“He threatened to stab the man and then said he was going to get a gun,” the court filing states.

Dellinger eventually walked away, but the encounter was so disturbing that the father immediately contacted law enforcement.

Ongoing Threats and Disturbing Online Posts

Police say the park incident was just one of several in a pattern of escalating behavior. Dellinger reportedly posted violent threats to social media, including a chilling March message that read: “Watch me murder my [family member].” He also allegedly accused one relative of “sleeping with his wife,” according to the charging documents.

The complaint further details an encounter in which Dellinger stopped a female stranger, claimed affiliation with the hacktivist group “Anonymous,” and then allegedly brandished a knife while making a veiled threat.

Another report describes Dellinger shouting threats at people from atop a dam in Lubbock, drawing the attention of bystanders and authorities alike.

Recent Mental Health Release Raises Questions

KLBK also reports that Dellinger had been recently released from a mental health facility, although details regarding his treatment timeline remain unclear. The court filing notes that Dellinger had been making threats “towards family and others” both before and after his release.

He has now been in custody for nearly a week, according to Lubbock County Jail records, with bond set at $130,000.

Legal Consequences and Community Impact

The severity of the charges—especially stalking and making terroristic threats—could carry substantial prison time if Dellinger is convicted. Law enforcement has not yet confirmed whether additional charges could be filed related to other alleged victims or incidents.

“This was a dangerous situation with multiple victims across time and platforms,” a Lubbock Police spokesperson told local media. “We’re continuing to investigate whether additional threats were made.”

As the community grapples with the unnerving details, authorities are urging anyone with information about Dellinger’s recent activities to come forward.
