WASHINGTON, D.C. (TDR) — In the wake of a shocking violent crime surge, Elon Musk publicly endorsed Donald Trump’s threat to federalize Washington, DC on Truth Social, following the near-fatal beating of Edward Coristine—known as “Big Balls”—who intervened in a youth gang attack against a woman.
Heroic Intervention and Concussion
According to Reuters, Coristine, a DOGE employee, was severely beaten while saving the victim from a dozen teenage assailants. He sustained a concussion but managed to subdue the attackers and escort the woman to safety .
“He risked his life for a stranger,” the Metropolitan Police Department chief told CNN .

In his post, Trump decried that “crime in Washington, D.C., is totally out of control”, blaming progressive prosecutors for releasing youth offenders back onto the streets . He insisted on issuing an executive order to override the city’s home rule and “prosecute minors as adults starting at age 14.”
“If D.C. doesn’t get its act together, we will have no choice but to take Federal control of the City,” Trump warned.

Responding on X, Musk declared, “It is time to take Federal control of the City,” echoing concerns about a public safety breakdown and the need for a robust police force presence .
