- Sarah Ferguson allegedly brought Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie to visit Jeffrey Epstein after 2009 jail release
- Leaked 2011 email shows Epstein told lawyer Ferguson “was first to celebrate my release with two daughters”
- Scandal forces Ferguson out of seven charities, threatens royal futures for 20-year-old Beatrice, 19-year-old Eugenie at time
LONDON (TDR) — The fallout from Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s connections to Jeffrey Epstein continues to unfold, with previously unseen emails reportedly showing that Epstein financially supported Sarah and that she allegedly brought daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie to visit the convicted sex offender after he was released from jail.
According to a report published by The Daily Mail, Epstein said in a 2011 email to his lawyer Paul Tweed that Sarah “was the first to celebrate my release with her two daughters in tow.”
When Epstein was released from jail in summer 2009, Beatrice and Eugenie would have been 20 and 19 years old, respectively. Epstein was convicted on June 30, 2008, in a Florida state court, charged with one count each of soliciting a minor for prostitution and soliciting prostitution.

Begging bowl and broken promises
The revelations paint a devastating picture of Ferguson’s relationship with the disgraced financier. Epstein even complained to associates about Ferguson’s scrounging ways, revealing she was “the first to celebrate” his release from jail “with her two daughters in tow.”
A well-placed source told the Mail on Sunday: “Sarah and Prince Andrew have always maintained they distanced themselves from Epstein after his conviction for child prostitution. In fact, it was Epstein who ended up dumping them. He got sick and tired of Sarah constantly asking him for money. She borrowed far more money off him than has ever come out.”
The financier was reportedly furious after Ferguson publicly denounced him. He wrote to his associate Jean-Luc Brunel, complaining, “The duchess that I have financially helped for 15 years said that she wants nothing to do with a paedophile and child sex abuser. It has caused quite a stir.”
Supreme friend email surfaces

In a previously unseen email from 2011, Ferguson referred to Epstein as a “supreme friend,” just weeks after telling the press she would “never have anything to do with” him again.
“I know you feel hellaciously let down by me from what you were either told or read and I must humbly apologise to you and your heart for that,” Ferguson allegedly wrote. “You have always been a steadfast, generous and supreme friend to me and my family.”
She added: “I was instructed to act with the utmost speed if I would have any chance of holding on to my career as a children’s book author and a children’s philanthropist.”
Ferguson’s spokesperson claimed the email was sent after Epstein threatened to sue her for defamation and that she was trying to “assuage Epstein and his threats” to protect her daughters.
Charity exodus and family fallout
Following the email’s publication, Ferguson was dropped as a patron by seven charities, including Julia’s House Children’s Hospice and the Natasha Allergy Research Foundation.
“Following the information shared this weekend on the Duchess of York’s correspondence with Jeffrey Epstein, Julia’s House has taken the decision that it would be inappropriate for her to continue as a patron of the charity,” the organization stated.
The scandal has reportedly created distance even within the York family. Princess Beatrice, 37, and Princess Eugenie, 35, have not been spotted at Royal Lodge in recent weeks, despite typically visiting frequently.
Royal dreams dashed
The controversy threatens to destroy any hopes Beatrice and Eugenie had of becoming working royals. The princesses have long quietly lobbied for official roles, and Beatrice’s presence at the King’s garden party this year had signaled progress.
“The York brand has been toxic for some time and this may well get even worse,” royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams observed.
King Charles has reportedly banned Andrew and Sarah from the 2025 royal Christmas celebrations, with sources saying the King wants the couple to remain “invisible” at future family events.
The timing couldn’t be worse for the York family. Prince William has reportedly been putting pressure on Charles to distance the monarchy from Andrew following the string of controversies.
A royal insider told the Daily Mail that Ferguson “will say anything to save her own skin — but her fate is closely tied to that of her ex-husband.”
The source added: “Her career as a children’s author looks to be going down the pan — how can someone who stayed friends with and was bankrolled by a paedophile be taken seriously as a voice for children?”
Ferguson has retreated from public view at Royal Lodge, with royal correspondent Richard Palmer noting there has been “no sign of her” in recent weeks.
Can the princesses’ reputations survive their parents’ scandals, or will the Epstein connection destroy their royal futures forever?
