But the split that shocked fans may not have been so surprising to those close to the couple. Sources reveal the pair had been living separately since the beginning of summer, with Urban quietly setting up his own residence in Nashville while Kidman held down the family home with their two teenage daughters.

Another insider claimed the news of Urban’s rumored new fling is “all over Nashville,” suggesting the 57-year-old country music star may have moved on quickly from his nearly two-decade marriage to the 58-year-old actress.

People magazine reported that Kidman feels “very betrayed” by how the marriage ended. “Nicole’s hurt and feels betrayed. It’s devastating to her. She’s shocked,” a source told the publication, painting a picture of an actress blindsided by the sudden collapse of what appeared to be one of Hollywood’s most solid marriages.

Interestingly, both Kidman and Urban had already signed and notarized a permanent parenting plan back in August and early September, suggesting they had been preparing for this split for at least a month before filing became public.

The divorce filing states that neither party will receive alimony or spousal support, and each will keep all assets in their own name, including copyrights and royalties for their artistic work. Both are also required to attend a parent education class within 60 days, and neither is seeking child support from the other.

Looking back, there were subtle hints that trouble was brewing. In June, Kidman posted a photo celebrating their 19th wedding anniversary with the caption “Happy Anniversary Baby.” Urban only responded with a heart emoji in the comments but notably didn’t write a post of his own.
