- President says he will ask Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate Democrats’ relationships with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein
- Trump declares “all arrows pointing to the Democrats” in case, calling revelations another “Russia, Russia, Russia Scam”
- Threat comes after House released emails showing Epstein claimed Trump “knew about the girls” and spent time at his home
WASHINGTON (TDR) — President Donald Trump announced Friday he will direct the Department of Justice to investigate relationships between convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and prominent Democrats including former President Bill Clinton and former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, declaring in a Truth Social post that “all arrows” in the case are “pointing to the Democrats.”
Trump demands investigation of political opponents
“Now that the Democrats are using the Epstein Hoax, involving Democrats, not Republicans, to try and deflect from their disastrous SHUTDOWN, and all of their other failures, I will be asking A.G. Pam Bondi, and the Department of Justice, together with our great patriots at the FBI, to investigate Jeffrey Epstein’s involvement and relationship with Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, Reid Hoffman, J.P. Morgan, Chase, and many other people and institutions,” Trump wrote.
“This is another Russia, Russia, Russia Scam, with all arrows pointing to the Democrats. Records show that these men, and many others, spent large portions of their life with Epstein, and on his ‘Island.’ Stay tuned!!!”

The threat follows the House Oversight Committee’s release of more than 20,000 pages of documents from Epstein’s estate Wednesday, many of which referenced Trump’s relationship with the deceased financier.
Emails reveal claims about Trump’s knowledge
Among the released documents, a 2011 email from Epstein to Ghislaine Maxwell stated Trump “spent hours at my house” with a sex trafficking victim. In a separate 2019 email to author Michael Wolff, Epstein wrote: “Of course he knew about the girls as he asked ghislaine to stop.”
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt dismissed the emails, stating they “prove absolutely nothing other than the fact that President Trump did nothing wrong.” Republicans on the Oversight Committee accused Democrats of “cherry-picking” documents to create a false narrative, noting the victim referenced, Virginia Giuffre, never accused Trump of wrongdoing before her death by suicide in April.
Democrats demand full disclosure
The document release intensified pressure on Trump to support full disclosure of Justice Department files related to Epstein, who died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. Rep. Robert Garcia of California, the top Democrat on the Oversight Committee, stated: “The more Donald Trump tries to cover up the Epstein files, the more we uncover.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson announced Wednesday he will schedule a vote next week on legislation compelling release of all Epstein files, after Rep. Adelita Grijalva was sworn in, providing the 218th signature needed for a discharge petition to force the vote.
Trump had previously expressed frustration with the Epstein controversy, declaring Thursday that “The Democrats are trying to bring up the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax again because they’ll do anything at all to deflect on how badly they’ve done on the Shutdown.”
The emails also showed Epstein mocked Trump in correspondence with Summers, calling the president “borderline insane” and questioning whether he showed signs of “early dementia” in separate exchanges with journalists and former Obama administration officials.
Trump has denied having known about Epstein’s decades-long abuse of underage girls and young women, maintaining he banned Epstein from Mar-a-Lago for inappropriate behavior toward female employees.
Should presidents use the Justice Department to investigate political opponents based on decades-old associations?
