• FBI Director allegedly refused to exit plane without properly-sized raid jacket
  • 115-page dossier from current and former agents details alleged dysfunction at bureau
  • Incident occurred day after Charlie Kirk's assassination in Utah

WASHINGTON (TDR) — FBI Director Kash Patel has broken his silence after a leaked internal report alleged he threw a tantrum aboard a government aircraft, refusing to exit until agents found him a properly-sized FBI raid jacket during the investigation into Charlie Kirk's assassination.

The supposed incident took place in Utah in September, one day after the right-wing activist was fatally shot at a rally in Orem. According to a 115-page dossier compiled by current and former FBI agents and analysts, Patel demanded operatives locate a medium-sized jacket before he would disembark from the FBI plane.

Patel Responds to Swalwell's Mockery

The FBI director responded after California Congressman Eric Swalwell ridiculed him over the episode on X, writing that he didn't mind Patel wearing "a women's (size medium) jacket to cosplay as someone in charge."

Patel fired back with a pointed correction and personal attack on the Democratic lawmaker.

"I was looking for a Youth Large... Domestic terrorism arrests are UP 30% this year — impressive, considering I spent zero days dating a Chinese spy named Fang Fang, where should I send your women's medium for date night?" Patel posted on X.

The reference targeted Swalwell's past association with Christine Fang, a suspected Chinese intelligence operative who assisted the congressman with fundraising activities and placed an intern in his office before federal investigators intervened.

Agents Scrambled for Jacket and Patches

According to the leaked report, FBI special agents at the Salt Lake City field office were forced to divert attention from the active murder investigation to accommodate Patel's wardrobe demands. The only medium-sized jacket available belonged to a female agent.

But the alleged tantrum didn't stop there. Patel reportedly complained that two areas on the upper sleeves lacked Velcro patches. SWAT team members removed insignias from their own uniforms and delivered them to the director at the airport before he would finally exit the aircraft.

Bongino Dismisses Report as 'Gossipy Nonsense'

Deputy Director Dan Bongino pushed back against the damning assessment, suggesting it came from disgruntled employees upset with reforms at the bureau.

"A LOT of people are very upset at the changes and reforms we've made at the FBI. They will do anything to revert to the old ways of doing things," Bongino wrote on X, accusing critics of leaking to media outlets with "a clear agenda."

The report, which has not been independently corroborated, also criticized Patel for making premature public remarks that could have jeopardized the Kirk investigation and for taking credit for the work of other agencies.

White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson defended Patel, calling him "a critical member of the President's team" who is "working tirelessly to restore integrity to the FBI."
