During a screening of "Moana 2" in Medford, Oregon, Moreno heard someone yell, “Does anybody here know CPR?” With over 30 years of experience in fire and EMS services, he quickly sprang into action. A few rows away, Mosaia “Mosie” Hannah had collapsed due to a heart condition called Supraventricular Tachycardia (SVT), which can cause sudden, dangerously high heart rates.

A Mother's Worst Fear

Mosie's mother, Allison Hannah, explained that the outing was part of a long-awaited gathering of friends and their children. While preparing seats and snacks, she noticed her daughter collapse without warning. SVT often causes Mosie's heart to race, but she usually alerts her family. This time, however, she didn’t give any warning signs.

The Hero Steps In

As Moreno made his way to the distressed child, Hannah handed her daughter to him. “I know what to do. It’s OK,” Moreno said, reassuring the panicked mother.. He carried Mosie to the bottom of the stairs and immediately began performing CPR. Meanwhile, emergency responders arrived and transported the child to the hospital.

Later that evening, doctors discharged Mosie without complications, much to her family’s relief. Hannah later publicly thanked Moreno on social media, which led to a heartfelt meeting between the two families for dinner.
