Sean “Diddy” Combs has taken legal action against NBC, filing a staggering $100 million lawsuit over the recently aired documentary Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy. The lawsuit accuses NBC of defamation and reckless allegations as part of a larger controversy surrounding the rap mogul, who is currently awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking.

Diddy Fights Back Against NBC’s Allegations

NBC aired the documentary on Peacock last month, which featured numerous interviews with individuals close to Combs, including childhood friends, a former bodyguard, employees, alleged victims, and singer Al B. Sure! The film has sparked outrage from Combs’s legal team, who claim it spreads baseless allegations, including murder and sexual misconduct with minors.

In the lawsuit, filed in New York County’s Supreme Court, Combs’s lawyers argue that NBC acted “maliciously and recklessly” by airing the documentary in a rush to capitalize on public interest in scandal. They further allege that NBC disregarded the truth and Combs’s right to a fair trial, leading to “substantial reputational and financial harm.”

Details of the $100 Million Lawsuit

Combs’s legal team is demanding a jury trial and damages exceeding $100 million. The lawsuit accuses NBC of exploiting the public’s appetite for controversy, prioritizing sensationalism over journalistic integrity. The rap mogul has vehemently denied the allegations, maintaining his innocence.

More Lawsuits Emerge Against Diddy

The controversy doesn’t stop with the NBC documentary. Over the past 16 months, at least 40 plaintiffs have filed lawsuits against Combs, accusing him of sexual assault or other misconduct.

Most recently, a lawsuit claimed that Combs drugged and sexually assaulted a teenager over two decades ago. The plaintiff, referred to as Jane Doe, alleges the incident occurred in late August or early September 2000 when she was walking home from a babysitting job in Manhattan.

Jane Doe’s Allegations Explained

According to the lawsuit obtained by Rolling Stone, Jane Doe was approached by Combs while exiting the apartment building where she worked as a part-time babysitter. Combs allegedly convinced the 16-year-old to get into his SUV, telling her it was unsafe to walk home alone.

The lawsuit describes the decision as one the plaintiff would “regret forever.” Jane Doe alleges another man and the driver, referred to as John Doe, were in the vehicle as well. The suit claims Combs drugged the teenager and later sexually assaulted her.

Diddy’s Legal Team Responds

While facing mounting lawsuits, Combs continues to deny all allegations. His legal team responded to the latest lawsuit, stating:

“No matter how many lawsuits are filed, it won’t change the fact that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted or sex trafficked anyone — man or woman, adult or minor. We live in a world where anyone can file a lawsuit for any reason. Fortunately, a fair and impartial judicial process exists to find the truth, and Mr. Combs is confident he will prevail in court.”

What’s Next for Diddy?

As Combs battles serious allegations and a public relations storm, the $100 million lawsuit against NBC represents his fight to reclaim his narrative. However, with multiple lawsuits and criminal charges still pending, his legal troubles are far from over.
