• Nationwide protests against Tesla target dealerships, charging stations, and CEO Elon Musk’s ties to President Trump and DOGE.
  • Violent incidents include gunfire and Molotov cocktails at Tesla dealerships in Oregon and explosives in Colorado.
  • Protesters, fueled by organizations like Indivisible, organize demonstrations at Tesla properties, intensifying political divisions.

Nationwide protests against Tesla have escalated, with Tesla dealerships, car owners, and charging stations targeted in what appears to be growing unrest against CEO Elon Musk. Critics are focusing on his involvement with President Donald Trump and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), an initiative aimed at reducing federal waste and fraud.

Tesla Dealerships Under Attack

The situation turned violent last Thursday when an Oregon Tesla dealership, located near Portland, was struck by gunfire, damaging several vehicles and shattering windows, according to The Associated Press. Earlier this month, a man was arrested after throwing Molotov cocktails at a Tesla dealership in Salem, Oregon. Police reported the suspect argued it was his “free speech” right to damage property. Authorities responded, saying they aimed to “educate” him on the difference between free speech and vandalism.

Meanwhile, in Colorado, Lucy Grace Nelson—also known as Justin Thomas Nelson—was charged with various crimes, including malicious destruction of property and use of explosives. Police uncovered concerning messages and explosives at a local Tesla dealership, escalating concerns about the safety of Tesla’s properties nationwide.

Protesters Target Musk’s Actions

The attacks coincide with broader protests against Musk and DOGE, fueled by organizations like Indivisible, who have distributed a “toolkit” encouraging demonstrations at Tesla showrooms, factories, and dealerships. Protesters gathered last weekend in Decatur, Georgia, displaying signs rejecting Musk and his association with DOGE. The toolkit includes recommendations for organizing effective protests, emphasizing targeting Tesla properties.

Political Divisions Intensify

In an interview with Fox News, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., expressed concern about the rhetoric surrounding Musk, noting some lawmakers see attacking him as a boost to their polling numbers. Luna also referenced Musk’s recent remarks about increased threats against his life during a conversation with podcaster Joe Rogan, further amplifying the tension.

These events highlight the rising conflict surrounding Musk’s leadership and his associations with policies under President Donald Trump.
