Tragic New Year’s Eve Shooting
The crime occurred on the night of December 31, 2022, at a home in Webster County. According to authorities, Madison Nicole Rueckert shot her boyfriend, Jonathan Miller, in the head after finding text messages on his phone that upset her. Court documents reveal that Rueckert waited for Miller to fall asleep before using a firearm to carry out the act.
Fleeing the Scene and Turning Herself In
Following the shooting, Rueckert drove to Dallas County, Missouri, where she reportedly spent the night hiding in the woods. The next day, she turned herself in at the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office. She recalled how she and her husband went to check on their son after being unable to reach him, only to learn that he had been killed. Speaking about the motive, Kopp expressed disbelief, saying, "I couldn’t believe it was because she found messages from him to other women. He hadn’t even cheated on her."
