A Michigan man, Timothy Morgan, 68, faces first-degree murder charges for allegedly killing his wife, Kathryn Morgan, 67, in Detroit. Police said the incident occurred on May 4 in the early morning hours.

Detroit Police officers arrived at the Conley Street home around 4:30 a.m. after reports of a stabbing. Inside, they found Kathryn Morgan in the living room with multiple stab wounds to her back and head.

Alleged Murder Weapons Identified

Authorities identified a plastic sword and a pair of pliers as the weapons used in the attack. Police said the plastic sword was used to stab Kathryn multiple times, while the pliers delivered a fatal head wound.

Timothy Morgan turned himself in at Detroit Police Department’s 11th Precinct shortly after the incident. Police booked him into the Wayne County Criminal Justice Center, where he remains held without bond.

Legal Proceedings and Next Steps

The Wayne County State’s Attorney’s Office announced Morgan’s charges and arraignment. He appeared in court on May 9. A probable cause hearing is scheduled for May 16, followed by a preliminary examination on May 22.

Police have not shared details about a potential motive. The investigation continues as authorities work to uncover more about the case.
