Tech billionaire Elon Musk revealed on Friday that his bruised eye was the result of a playful punch from his five-year-old son, X Æ A-12, known simply as “X.” Musk shared the lighthearted story during an Oval Office event with President Donald Trump, marking the end of Musk’s tenure with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

The event celebrated Musk’s achievements in spearheading initiatives aimed at cutting government waste. President Trump presented Musk with a golden key, commending his efforts. Musk, in turn, praised the agency’s mission, saying, “This is only the beginning for DOGE.”

When asked by reporters about the noticeable bruise on his face, Musk explained the incident: “I was just horsing around with little X and said, ‘Go ahead and punch me in the face.’ And he did. Turns out even a five-year-old punching you in the face actually does [leave a mark].”

President Trump responded with humor, saying, “That was X that did it? If you knew X, he could do it.” Musk laughed, adding, “He’s with his mom right now, but I didn’t really feel much at the time. I guess it bruises up.”

Musk Dodges Controversial Questions

Musk’s jovial tone turned serious when reporters pressed him on unrelated topics. When Fox News’ Peter Doocy asked about a recent New York Times report detailing Musk’s alleged drug use during his work with DOGE, Musk immediately shut it down. “Let’s move on,” he stated firmly, before criticizing the publication for its credibility issues. “I think the judge just ruled against [the] New York Times for their lies about the Russigate hoax.”
