In light of safety concerns, Dan Campbell, the head coach of the Detroit Lions, has decided to relocate his family from their current residence in suburban Detroit. The decision comes after a series of harassment incidents at their home, prompting the family to sell their 2-acre property.

"The house itself is gorgeous," Campbell remarked during an interview with Crain's Detroit Business. "However, our address became public knowledge following a defeat which led to unwanted attention." While Campbell refrained from detailing the incidents at his home, it was reported by FOX 2 in Detroit that the family fell victim to doxxing after a game against the Dallas Cowboys late in the 2023 season. This doxxing included their Bloomfield, Michigan home's address being leaked online.

Subsequently, this breach of privacy saw pranksters sending unsolicited contractors to Campbell's doorstep, adding to the harassment faced by the family post-loss in the NFC Championship Game. In response to these events, multiple police reports were filed with Bloomfield Township police.

To facilitate their move, Ashley Crain, CEO and founder of Crain Homes, was enlisted by the Campbells for her expertise in real estate and unique boutique brokerage services that provide what she describes as concierge services not available from other agents. "With his rising fame, moving was a prudent choice for them," Crain explained to FOX 2.

Remarkably, within just 24 hours of listing Dan Campbell's house on the market, a buyer was found. The sale is currently pending. The new owners are avid Lions fans who agreed on a purchase price of $4.5 million—a significant increase from the $3.5 million paid by Campbell and his family in 2021 when he first took up his role as head coach for the Lions.

The property sold is a sprawling 7,800-square-foot Cape Cod-style mansion previously owned by Igor Larionov, a former center for the Detroit Red Wings and Hockey Hall of Famer.

Since taking helm at Detroit Lions in 2021 amidst challenges during his inaugural season as head coach, Campbell has led an impressive turnaround for the team over subsequent seasons. They finished with records of 9-8 in 2022 followed by an even more remarkable season in 2023 with a record of 12-5—highlighted by their first playoff victory since 1991. Following these achievements, March saw Campbell signing an extension with the Lions.

As they continue into this year's NFL season with a balanced start—securing an overtime victory against Los Angeles Rams but facing defeat to Tampa Bay Buccaneers—the Campbells look forward to settling into their new home away from public scrutiny while remaining committed to Detroit and its football community.
