- Elon Musk announced the formation of a new political entity, the “America Party,” aiming to challenge the two-party system. With a focus on legislative balance and resistance to “debt slavery,” Musk’s proposal has sparked debate among lawmakers, billionaires, and voters alike. A July 4 poll showed 65% of Musk’s followers favor breaking away from the traditional political structure.
AUSTIN, TX (TDR) — Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk unveiled plans for a new political party, the “America Party,” on Saturday, signaling a bold challenge to the entrenched two-party system. The announcement, posted on Musk’s platform X, comes amid his growing criticism of President Trump’s policies—particularly the “Big Beautiful Bill,” which Musk has repeatedly denounced as fiscally irresponsible.
“Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom,” Musk declared in a post, hinting at a strategy focused on securing key Senate and House seats to act as a legislative counterweight. Musk’s July 4 poll, which attracted 1.25 million participants, showed 65% supporting “independence” from the current system.
Musk Criticizes Trump’s Fiscal Policies
Musk’s public feud with President Trump centers on the controversial “Big Beautiful Bill,” a sweeping domestic policy package that includes extensive tax cuts but could add over $3 trillion to the national debt, as estimated by the Congressional Budget Office. Musk has called the bill “debt slavery,” sparking sharp criticism from the White House.

“Having earned the largest share of votes for a Republican presidential nominee and secured majorities in the House and Senate, President Trump has unified the party under a historic domestic policy agenda,” said Harrison Fields, White House deputy press secretary, in a statement to Business Insider.
Billionaires Respond to Musk’s Announcement
Musk’s vision for the America Party has drawn mixed reactions from prominent figures. Mark Cuban, billionaire entrepreneur and longtime Musk ally, expressed support, offering assistance to get the party on ballots nationwide. “I work with @voterchoice. They will help you get on ballots,” Cuban posted on X.
Similarly, former Trump aide Anthony Scaramucci showed interest, writing, “I would like to meet to discuss. My DMs are open.”
Future Political Implications
Musk’s announcement has raised questions about its potential to disrupt traditional party dynamics. Could the America Party reshape legislative priorities in Congress? Or will it merely fragment opposition to the two-party system?

I was optimistic, but I’ll NEVER associate with a party that appeals to Cuban! LOL!
This will accomplish nothing but split the conservative/independent vote and hand control to the dems. Perrot redux.
Perot. Sorry Ross.
Oh, puhlease. Cuban and Scaramucci? WGAS.
Wow. If Musk keeps absorbing all the loose RINOs and liberals, Democrats will become a tiny 3rd party.
Now that Cuban and Scaramucci are mentioned I certainly will not have anything to do with Elon’s new party. Can’t believe he would be that dumb as to be associated with those two turds.
