SPRINGFIELD, IL (TDR) — Illinois Governor JB Pritzker brushed off suggestions that the FBI could cross state lines to locate and arrest Texas Democrats who fled to safe-haven states, calling the talk “grandstanding.”
Trump and Cornyn Call for Federal Crackdown
Republican U.S. Senator John Cornyn and Donald Trump signaled support for using federal agents after more than 50 Texas Democrats left the state to deny Republicans the quorum needed to pass a mid-decade redistricting plan .
“They can say that they’re sending FBI… but if you haven’t broken federal law, you’re basically unwelcome,” Pritzker told the News Not Noise podcast.
