- Joe Rogan clashed with Rep. Anna Paulina Luna over allegations that protests against ICE raids are Chinese-backed.
- Rogan said Americans supported targeting gang members but not landscapers, gardeners, or day laborers.
- The podcaster, once a Trump endorser, called the recent raids “insane” and increasingly criticized the president.
AUSTIN, Texas (TDR) — Joe Rogan used his platform this week to criticize ongoing ICE raids under President Donald Trump, after Florida congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna suggested that foreign influence was fueling protests against deportations.
Luna, a rising Republican voice, appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience and claimed that China has been backing certain groups to stoke division. She referred to demonstrations as “TEMU riots,” alleging Beijing was using proxies to “divide on that topic as well.” Rogan didn’t dismiss the notion outright but redirected the debate to public frustration with immigration enforcement.
The podcaster stressed that outrage stemmed from the targeting of hard-working immigrants rather than violent criminals. He painted a picture of day laborers being taken from construction sites or home improvement stores, which he said was never the public’s expectation of immigration reform.

“When people thought about ICE, they thought, ‘Great, we’re going to get rid of the gang members.’ They didn’t think, *‘Great, you’re going to get rid of the landscaper,’” Rogan remarked.
His remarks echoed concerns from immigrant-rights advocates who argue that family separations and workplace crackdowns fuel mistrust while failing to enhance security.
Rogan, who once endorsed Trump in 2024, has grown sharper in his critiques. Last month he blasted the raids as “insane,” accusing the administration of targeting migrant workers instead of cartel operatives or gang leaders.
Immigration hardliners counter that the crackdown is necessary to restore order, while civil liberties groups decry what they see as overreach by ICE. Political strategists note the issue could shape the 2026 midterms, as voters weigh the balance between border security and economic reliance on migrant labor.
