• Convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein described President Donald Trump as “borderline insane” in 2018 correspondence with former Treasury Secretary
  • Over 20,000 pages of documents released by House Oversight Committee reveal Epstein’s private comments about Trump’s mental state and behavior
  • Emails show Epstein claiming Trump “knew about the girls” and spent hours at Epstein’s residence with trafficking victim

WASHINGTON (TDR) — Newly released emails from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate reveal the convicted sex offender made scathing assessments of President Donald Trump‘s mental fitness, calling him “borderline insane” and questioning whether he showed signs of “early dementia” in private correspondence before Epstein’s 2019 death. The House Oversight Committee documents were released Wednesday amid the conclusion of the nation’s longest government shutdown.

Scathing assessments of president’s behavior

In a December 2018 email exchange with former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, Epstein wrote “Trump – borderline insane,” prompting Summers to ask, “Will Trump crack into sanity?” Epstein responded that erratic behavior wasn’t new for Trump, claiming “thats how he got through new personal bankruptcy.” A separate 2018 email to a New York Times reporter saw Epstein question whether Trump showed “early dementia” after the reporter noted Trump was “looking/sounding increasingly unhinged.”

The disgraced financier also told Summers in October 2017 that he believed Trump’s “world will collapse,” according to correspondence reviewed by Bloomberg. In a January 2017 email, one week after Trump’s inauguration, Epstein described the new president as “f**king crazy.”

More troubling for the White House are emails where Epstein allegedly discussed Trump’s awareness of illegal activities. In a 2011 message to accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein wrote that a victim “spent hours at my house with him ,, he has never once been mentioned.” In 2019 correspondence with author Michael Wolff, Epstein stated Trump “knew about the girls as he asked ghislaine to stop.”

“The more Donald Trump tries to cover up the Epstein files, the more we uncover,” said Ranking Member Robert Garcia of the House Oversight Committee.

Epstein also told author Wolff in 2018, “I know how dirty Donald is,” suggesting potential scandals involving Trump. The emails reveal Epstein even offered photos of Trump with “girls in bikinis” in his kitchen to a journalist.

White House dismisses revelations

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt called the email releases “selectively leaked” to “create a fake narrative,” stating they prove “absolutely nothing other than the fact that President Trump did nothing wrong.” Trump dismissed the documents on Truth Social as the “Jeffrey Epstein Hoax” designed to distract from Democratic failures during the shutdown.

The releases come as bipartisan support grows to compel full disclosure of Justice Department files on Epstein, with a House floor vote expected next week after Rep. Adelita Grijalva was sworn in Wednesday.

Do Epstein’s private assessments raise legitimate questions about Trump’s fitness for office, or are they merely the bitter observations of a disgraced criminal?
