- Rapper allegedly sent ex-wife Kim Kardashian angry messages over 12-year-old’s viral TikTok look
- Reality star dismisses controversy as “such a non-issue” while defending daughter’s creativity
- Sources claim Ye believes the Kardashians “have their hooks into all the kids”
LOS ANGELES, CA (TDR) — The co-parenting drama between Kim Kardashian and Kanye West has reignited after their 12-year-old daughter North debuted a head-turning look on TikTok that left dear old dad anything but impressed. The preteen showed off faux face tattoos, a fake septum piercing, grillz, electric blue braids, and bright blue contact lenses in videos that quickly went viral on the account she shares with her famous mom.
North captioned the posts “Fake piercings and fake tatts for life,” making clear the body modifications were temporary. But that disclaimer apparently did little to calm the storm brewing in the West household.
Ye Fires Off Angry Messages
Sources tell Star Magazine that the 48-year-old rapper is “worried his little girl is acting up” after seeing North’s Halloween-season transformation. According to insiders, Ye allegedly sent Kim multiple angry messages and even threatened legal action over their daughter’s public image.

The rapper reportedly believes Kim is allowing North to “grow up too fast” and has accused his ex of encouraging mature styles that are inappropriate for a preteen. Sources claim Ye remains convinced that Kim and her famous family “have their hooks into all the kids.”
“He wants to spend more time with her and the other kids, too, but liaising with the Kardashians and their lawyers about drop-off time is always a nightmare.”
Wife Bianca Censori has reportedly been following the situation closely and believes the couple needs to be more proactive about seeing the children, especially North.
Kim Claps Back at Critics
While Kanye fumes, Kim has taken a decidedly more relaxed approach to the whole situation. The SKIMS founder hopped into the comments section of a Daily Mail TikTok video about the controversy and fired back with a simple message: “This is such a non-issue.”

The 45-year-old reality star has been vocal about supporting North’s creative expression. During her appearance on Call Her Daddy podcast in October, Kim explained that she encourages her daughter to experiment with her look.
“I’m like, ‘Babe, if you want blue hair, it is what it is,'” Kim told host Alex Cooper. “It makes her so happy. I would never take that creative away from her.”
Kim also revealed that North is “really mature” and confident about her style choices, noting her daughter doesn’t care when people criticize her blue hair or other fashion experiments.
The Absent Father Factor
Adding another layer to this family drama is the fact that Kanye has been largely absent from his children’s lives. Kim recently admitted on the same podcast that it had been “a couple of months” since their four kids had heard from their father.
Parenting experts have weighed in on the situation, suggesting that minimal paternal contact could have long-term effects on the children. Dr. Sirotkin, a parenting specialist, noted that the ex-couple’s tendency to air grievances publicly creates “additional developmental challenges” for their kids.
North’s edgy transformation isn’t her first brush with controversy this year. She previously drew criticism for wearing a corset-style top and miniskirt during a family trip to Rome, and her appearance at Coachella with makeup prompted Kanye to publicly post “As a dad, I didn’t love this.”
The eldest of Kim and Kanye’s four children has been building quite the resume at just 12 years old, including performing at The Lion King Live and making her debut at Paris Fashion Week. Kim recently announced she would be managing North’s burgeoning career, following the momager model perfected by grandmother Kris Jenner.
When it comes to North West’s style evolution, who gets the final say—the hands-on mom or the frequently absent dad?
