• British media personality describes feeling moved by Owens' "prance" during their first meeting
  • Brand says he confined his "perspectives of your beauty to an appropriate strata" as a married man
  • Interview covered conspiracy theories, Turning Point USA, and conservative movement fractures

LOS ANGELES, CA (TDR) — British comedian Russell Brand spent considerable time during a recent podcast interview gushing over conservative commentator Candace Owens' appearance, calling her "so beautiful" and "attractive" while reflecting on what he described as a spiritual connection between them.

The December 8 episode of Brand's "Stay Free" podcast featured a wide-ranging conversation with Owens that touched on politics, faith, and the current state of the conservative movement. However, the 50-year-old host's effusive comments about Owens' physical appearance quickly drew attention online.

Brand Recalls 'Beautiful Moment'

Brand, who pleaded not guilty to rape and sexual assault charges earlier this year stemming from allegations dating back decades, opened the interview by reminiscing about his first meeting with the 36-year-old podcaster.

"You did a sort of prance," Brand recalled, describing what he called a "beautiful moment" when Owens allegedly skipped around the room after they had debated political positions.

"It made me feel that everything that gets discussed on a political level is superficial and empty because it's spirit that actually matters."

Brand continued by acknowledging his marital status while still emphasizing his attraction to Owens.

"I was already married, of course, so I confined my perspectives of your beauty to an appropriate strata," he explained. "But what affected me was, in spite of all this stuff we've been talking about how we disagree on stuff, on a spiritual level, I really like this person. I love this person... I find this person attractive."

Owens Criticizes Kirk's Widow

Beyond the personal compliments, the interview also featured Owens' continued criticism of Erika Kirk, who became CEO of Turning Point USA following the assassination of her husband Charlie Kirk in September.

"I think the mistake they made... she never should have become the CEO and chairman overnight," Owens said, arguing that the organization should have appointed an interim leader while the widow grieved.

Owens suggested the rapid leadership transition created unnecessary pressure on Erika Kirk, forcing her to answer difficult public questions while still processing her husband's death.

Ongoing Conservative Feud

The Brand interview comes amid an escalating public dispute between Owens and Turning Point USA. Erika Kirk responded to Owens' criticism during a Fox News appearance Wednesday, calling conspiracy theories about her husband's death a "mind virus."

"Come after me, call me names — I don't care," Kirk told host Harris Faulkner. "But when you go after my family, my Turning Point USA family... when you go after the people that I love, and you're making hundreds and thousands of dollars every single episode going after the people that I love because somehow they're in on this? No."

Owens fired back, accusing Kirk of "Meghan Markle syndrome" — wanting privacy selectively while simultaneously sharing personal moments publicly.

Will Brand's effusive praise help or hurt Owens' credibility as the Turning Point USA feud continues to divide conservative media?
