The Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) in central Florida is actively searching for 30 individuals who disrupted traffic, endangered lives, and caused extensive property damage in Orlando during an “intersection takeover.”

The incident happened on November 30 at the intersection of South John Young Parkway and Central Florida Parkway.

Intersection Turned Chaotic with Fire and Reckless Driving

According to a statement on the OCSO’s Facebook page, a large group of individuals blocked the intersection, set a fire in the roadway, and used the area for cars to perform donuts around the flames. The chaos escalated as the group harassed passing drivers and prevented them from leaving the area.

Footage shared by the sheriff’s office shows the alarming scene. In one clip, a voice yells, “There’s a baby in the car,” as drivers remain trapped in the chaos. The group also climbed onto vehicles and caused significant damage to some.

Tesla Driver Reports Significant Damages

For example, a Tesla driver reported an estimated $60,000 in damages after dozens of individuals jumped on his car and kicked in the windshield, according to an affidavit obtained by the Miami Herald.

 

The OCSO condemned the suspects’ actions, describing the behavior as “reckless and violent.” The sheriff’s office warned that such actions threaten public safety and vowed to hold the individuals accountable.

Law Enforcement Specialist Speaks Out

“I feel so really bad for the people that were just there trying to go about their daily lives and got caught up in that mess,” said Dave Nutting, a law enforcement specialist and retired deputy with the sheriff’s office, in an interview with FOX 35 Orlando.

The sheriff’s office also shared images of the 30 suspects captured on video during the incident.

Authorities Seek Public Assistance

While some suspects tried to conceal their identities, others openly recorded the chaos on their cell phones. Authorities urge anyone who recognizes the individuals to contact Crimeline at 800-423-8477. Tipsters can remain anonymous and, in doing so, can help law enforcement track down those responsible.

Investigation Continues

Despite the severity of the incident, authorities have not reported any arrests or injuries so far. Meanwhile, investigators continue gathering evidence and working to identify and apprehend those involved.

The OCSO stresses the importance of addressing such incidents to ensure community safety. “Reckless and violent behavior like this has no place in our community,” the sheriff’s office stated.
