- The incident, despite an apology from the harasser, has raised concerns about fan behavior at sporting events.
The Philadelphia Eagles organization and Lincoln Financial Field have issued a lifetime ban to a fan who verbally harassed a Green Bay Packers supporter during Sunday’s playoff game. The incident, caught on video and widely shared online, occurred when the Eagles defeated the Packers 22-10 on January 12. The man, whose actions have drawn significant backlash, will no longer be allowed to attend games at the stadium.
Video of Incident Sparks Outrage Online
Footage of the altercation initially surfaced on X (formerly Twitter), where Alexander Basara, a Green Bay Packers content creator, shared the clip. In the video, the Eagles fan leaned forward to taunt Basara’s fiancée, Ally Keller, who was cheering for the Packers. Wearing Packers merchandise, Keller became the target of derogatory remarks, including being called “an ugly, dumb c—.”
Basara captioned the video, “What it’s like going to Philly just trying to root for your team. Unprovoked, uncalled for. Packers twitter, help me out and find this guy…. this is not okay. I hate that my fiancée had this happen simply cheering for her team.” The post quickly gained traction, prompting widespread condemnation of the man’s behavior.

The day after the game, NFL reporter Derrick Gunn announced on X that the Eagles had identified the individual involved. According to Gunn, the team has barred the man from attending future games at Lincoln Financial Field. Additionally, the Eagles plan to send Keller Packers gear as an apology for the incident.
The Eagles’ decision to act swiftly has received praise from many fans, who applauded their zero-tolerance policy for such behavior. However, the video also generated debate online about how Basara handled the situation. Some users commended him for keeping his composure, while others questioned why he did not intervene more assertively. In response, Basara explained that the man was part of a group and that he feared escalating the situation further.
Harasser Issues Public Apology
On January 15, the man, identified as Caldwell, released a statement apologizing for his actions. He admitted that what began as “banter” with two Packers fans escalated into an unacceptable verbal attack. Caldwell stated, “In the heat of the moment, I chose unforgiving words to address one of the fans, Ms. Ally Keller.” He further claimed the video did not capture the full context of what transpired but acknowledged that his comments were inappropriate.
Despite the apology, the incident has reignited conversations about fan conduct at sporting events. Eagles fans, known for their passionate support, have faced criticism in the past for similar altercations. However, the team’s decisive action in this case reflects a growing push for accountability.
